About Glossop

The Inspire Festival is looking to support the Glossop community by promoting:

  • Groups
  • Events
  • Local shops
  • Market traders
  • Local crafts
  • Local, non-chain pubs
  • Community information

We will be having a stand at the festival to display this information. If you can’t make the whole day, please come down on the day to display your details on the stand.

Homeless Appeal

The Inspire Festival is going to be supporting Wellsprings, which is a resource centre for Homeless and disadvantaged people.

Wellsprings is interested in attending the festival and having a drop-off stand so people can bring along much-needed items. They are currently compiling a list of all items needed; once I receive this list I will post it on the website, the facebook page, and in the next newsletter.

Take part in the festival

The room that is being used for guest speakers is a large hall with a screen and seating in a theatre layout, so we are going to change the name to Live Acts.

We are looking for groups, organisations, and people who would like to take part.

Here are some ideas:

  • Guest Speakers
  • Demonstrations
  • Presentations
  • Drama & Performances
  • Short Films
  • Comedy Groups

Please send details to: whatsonnorthwest@hotmail.co.uk.

Book and Confirm your Place

I need all who wish to attend to book and confirm a space.

To do so all you need to do is send me an email with brief details on your group/organisation, what you will be doing on the day, and a photo/logo.

This information will be used for the promotion of the festival and will enable people to find out about what will be happening on the day; it is also an opportunity for groups attending to promote themselves.

Please check the website to see if you have been added to the confirmed list.

Emails should be sent to: whatsonnorthwest@hotmail.co.uk.

Enchanted Woodland Theme

I have opened a photo album on the Facebook page to inspire thoughts around the Enchanted Woodland theme.

I am waiting to hear if we have been successful with our grant appeals; if we are successful, we will have some funding to cover the cost of materials for arts workshops.

Enchanted Woodland Creatures Workshop

These photos are only to inspire ideas; they are creations of Brian and Wendy Froud.

We will be using clay, materials, beads, and natural items such as…

  • Conifer Trimmings
  • Privet Trimmings
  • Holly
  • Long dry Grass
  • Twigs

We will be appealing for people to bring along some natural materials on the day.

Everyone involved in the festival is a volunteer; the festival is a not-for-profit event aimed at supporting and benefiting the community. Any support offered will be very much appreciated.
